Corey Ingram Circle & Champions Walk Memorial – 2024

Begun in 2018 but then delayed due to the COVID pandemic, the Corey Ingram Circle & Champions Walk was completed in 2024. This project, an outgrowth of the Poughkeepsie welcome sign on the west side of town, is positioned at the northern entrance to Poughkeepsie and honors Corey Ingram, one of Poughkeepsie’s fallen war heroes who was killed when his ship, the USS McCain, collided with an oil tanker near Singapore. The Champions Walk also honors five other community leaders from the north side of Poughkeepsie, who were selected by a committee of community members. MASS Design Group developed the project design, and the steel monuments were constructed by 4th State Metals.

In February 2025, this project was awarded the 2024 American Institute of Architects (AIANYS) Design Pro Bono Project Citation. Click to view the AIA video presentation.
