During 2022 and 2023, the Poughkeepsie Alliance supported the Poughkeepsie Children’s Cabinet’s (PCC) and the Children’s Funding Project (CFP) in their effort to create a comprehensive and interactive map that analyzes how federal, state, county, city, philanthropic and community partner funding streams support children and youth in the city of Poughkeepsie. The goal of this mapping project was to determine existing resources, identify new resources, and align both in providing more out of school time programming for children and youth. PCC leveraged this fiscal map to complete the second two steps in a full stack of strategic financing initiaitves, including an Out-of-School-Time cost model and sourcing new funding recommendations. Based on this work and the initial investment of the Alliance, PCC unlocked funding to hire a full-time Children’s Funding Coordinator who continues to collaborate with local leaders to meet these goals, and in 2025-26 will create an updated Fiscal Map and cost-model for summer programming and early childhood.
